When pasting Highlight Play items into a track which has a different aspect ratio to the source track the highlight’s aspect ration will be automatically adjusted. (SSD-275, SSD-283). Creating projects with ROM content (Enhanced DVD) will no longer fail if the file name is longer than 63 characters and Joliet File System extensions are being used. (SSD-273). The Help - About Dialog now shows the correct build number (SSD-285). Multiple issues have been fixed when opening projects from previous versions or performing “Save As” functions. When moving a button in the simulation window its size will no longer increase by one pixel. Resolved issues in Scenarist SD 3.4.2. Resolved issues in Scenarist SD 3.4.1. The calculation of the initial SCR for a multi-angle track has been improved. This increases the chances of a successful multiplex even on complex tracks. If interleaving multi-angle tracks consistently fails the user can try adjusting the environment variable MULTIANGLESIMULATIONTIMEINSECONDS.

THX Media Director Information is now correctly stored on disc for tracks with multiple audio streams or multiple angles. (SSD-223). THX Media Director Information for Root Menus is now correctly stored in the BBD files. Scenarist SD will now prevent projects generated in older versions of the application from opening. In order to upgrade projects from older version for use in Scenarist SD 3.4 please export to script and import the script into Scenarist SD 3.4.
Resolved Issues in Scenarist SD 3.3.2. Scenarist SD is now able to open project files created in earlier versions of the application (SSD-113). Multiplexing tracks with multiple video angles and audio streams has been improved to reduce the likelihood of buffer overflow errors. Scenarist SD now correctly copies and pastes audio streams and subpictures in drop frame tracks (SSD-155). It is now possible to import NTSC Drop Frame subtitle scripts in which a subtitle crosses the drop frame boundary (SSD-3). Importing Script files (.scp) of a drop frame project no longer results in moved subtitles (SSD-106). Closed Caption files are now correctly being multiplexed into NTSC drop frame tracks (SSD-118).
Importing chapter information from CSV files no longer stops when the first incorrect chapter point is encountered (SSD-84). StreamData files for PAL projects now import correctly (SSD-119). Scenarist SD can now be correctly activated on Windows 7 systems on which Scenarist Designer is installed (SSD-117).
The drop type of subpictures and related DCS streams is now correctly stored in the project file (SSD-141). Opening the Simulation Window from Data Editor with non-video assets no longer crashes the application (SSD-93). The Simulation Window now correctly shows color indices for button highlights (SSD-19). Audio Transcoder now launches correctly when Scenarist SD is installed and activated (SSD-151). Resolved Issues in Scenarist SD 3.3. It is now possible to offset audio streams in a drop frame track by entering a new start time to Video.
The Drop Type of a video asset is now automatically detected upon import. Scenarist SD no longer hangs when trying to import an invalid CSV or EPX file. When importing chapter stops from a CSV of EPX (StreamData) file into a Drop Frame track the chapters are now placed correctly. It is no longer possible to import non-drop frame subtitle scripts into a drop frame track and vice versa. When importing subtitles via SST scripts into a drop frame track the subtitle’s start time is now identical with the value in the SST file. When starting Simulation the ‘Object Design’ Window is now correctly placed on top of the simulation window. Subtitles no longer display in simulation when the value of SPRM2 is less than 64.
Subtitles also don’t display anymore after execution of ‘Set Subtitle OFF’ command. Scenarist SD no longer exists when launching Hardware Simulation in a second instance of the application. When selecting ‘always on top’ during simulation the playback is no longer interrupted. Tracks that are set to play back in Widescreen, Letterbox and Pan-Scan now show the correct subpicture during simulation.
When simulating a PanScan Menu Track the correct button coordinates are now selected. Hardware Simulation now shows the correct display aspect ratio as chosen by the user (Wide, Letter or PanScan). Simulating a non-multiplexed track no longer shows a ‘file not found’ warning. When simulating 16:9 or PanScan PGCs the correct subpicture is now being displayed. When simulating a PGC that contains PanScan video in Letterbox mode the correct subpicture is now displayed. Changing the ‘Display Mode’ Property of a track now immediately refreshes the subpicture stream display of the timeline. The Dolby Surround Mode setting is now stored in the application preferences.
The extension ‘.scn’ is automatically added to the file name even if the name includes a period. It is no longer possible to join Video Files with different encoding parameters (aspect ratio, encode type) using the Multi-File Data command. When choosing ‘Edit Track’ in Scenario Editor the correct track is selected in Track Editor’s timeline and tree view. This prevents accidental deletions in Track Editor. The PlantDirect folder is now stored in the project file and is restored when loading the project. Scenarist SD no longer exist when trying to use the ‘’character in file names. PlantDirect is now the default premastering device.
Video Tracks with long file names no longer get corrupted when multiplexed to a non-empty directory. It is no longer possible to change the ‘Start Time’ value of a subpicture. Cells in a Random or Shuffle PGC no longer have the seamless flag set after multiplexing. Resolved Issues in Scenarist SD 3.2.2. Performing Hardware Simulation on Multi-Core PCs will now play back fluently. During Simulation the application will only use one processor. When the simulation process has ended the application will revert to using all available processors.
Video streams that have been created as “Multi-File Data” no longer fail to generate thumbnails. These assets also now simulate in Software Simulation. Importing Field-Based MPEG-Video files no longer causes the application to crash. Scenarist SD no longer requires ASPI (Adaptec SCSI Port Interface) drivers to be present on the system. When importing large amounts of subtitles the application will no longer slow down during the import process. It is now possible to import chapters from a CSV file that has additional header data.
It is now possible to import chapters from an EPX file if the video asset does not start at 00:00:00:00. The “Set to GPRM” function can now use GPRM0 as valid parameter for randomizing. When issuing the “CallSS” command the “Cell for Resume” may now be set to values above 127. The Simulation Window button in the toolbar now shows the correct tooltip. When switching between Hardware Simulation and Preview Mode the application no longer shuts down unexpectedly. In case the security dongle is removed while the application is running the application will now prompt to reinsert the dongle and continue running as soon as the dongle is re-inserted.
It is now possible to cancel out of the Activation Dialog without receiving an error message. Using invalid characters in project names no longer causes the application to exit.
Removing the dongle while the application is running will no longer result in an application shutdown. The user will be prompted to re-insert the dongle. Extended Operating System Support Scenarist SD 3.3 runs on the Windows VISTA and Windows 7, in addition to Windows XP. Enhanced Dongle Support Scenarist SD now also supports the Sentinel USB dongle that is used to activate other Sonic applications.
